Temporary Building

Rapid Response

When time is critical, Exup offers portable buildings for high-threat, hostile, and post-disaster applications. Based on 20 and 40 foot shipping containers, Exup buildings are flexible enough to accommodate quarters for sleeping, cooking and eating, ablutions, weapons storage, communications, health stations, and more.

Time Defined Mission

One of the tenets of the Exup building style is durability. In most cases this applies to a building standing the test of time in one place, but in time defined missions that is not always suitable. Camps that need to be built quickly, then broken down in a year’s time demand the flexibility offered by Exup portable buildings. Exup offers both purchase and lease options, depending on the application.

Reusable Housing

One of the driving forces behind the Exup philosophy and business model is our intent to leave the world a better place than we found it. We accomplish this task in two main ways; by building as green as we possibly can, including life-cycle costs in every assessment and building plan, and by donating time and materials to needy communities. Because our portable houses can be re-used, we make an effort to donate buildings that are pre-owned to post-disaster areas throughout the world once they have served their original purpose.

Post-disaster scenarios

Within days of a disaster occurring, Exup coordinates with local, state, and federal government agencies to provide containers and buildings that go beyond the basic necessities. These offer a rapid, temporary, cost-effective response for housing of affected families. Within two months of the disaster, the first permanent building foundations are poured, and the walls are rising.

At the three month mark the first buildings are completed, and families and businesses can move into permanent homes. As more people transition from temporary housing to Exup-style permanent structures that can withstand the next disasters, the container homes are removed and either re-used or donated.

What is our portable building goal?

Exup’s focus with portable buildings is to provide our clients a temporary building solution in high-threat, hostile, and post-disaster applications.
