Bio Gas Power

What is it?

Bio-gas is an emerging technology, using naturally produced methane from a tank filled with animal dung to run gas operated heating appliances, such as hot water heaters, clothes and dishwashers, and stoves. As a technology over thirty years old, bio-gas has proven its usefulness both on large-scale commercial farms and on small scale residential levels in rural areas.

Break it down

Production facilities normally consist of a manure collection, anaerobic digester, effluent storage, gas handling, and gas use. Exup uses experienced bio-gas designers to implement systems as part of the Exup H.I.D.E.S. design.

What are the benefits?

Bio-gas is an excellent way to reduce pathogens from manure, reduce odors, and recycle products that would otherwise be considered waste, as well as an example of accomplishing multiple tasks with one technology, including natural fertilizer production and power production.

Where does Exup use it?

Most appropriate for locales that are not connected to grid power, have warm year-round temperatures, and large amounts of animal dung, bio-gas is perfect for both disaster areas as well as high threat/hostile environments.

Bio-gas works very well in hot climates, as the high temperature supports anaerobic breakdown and methane production. Bio-gas can be used in conjunction with cattle or pig farms, or with human waste, and is currently used in North America, Africa, Central America, India, and South-East Asia.
