Solutions

What will you find here?

The Solutions section focuses on the details of green building, from how we integrate H.I.D.E.S. principles into each structure, to what type of building material works best in a given environment, to explaining the basics of heating and cooling.

What is a H.I.A.C., anyway?

HIAC stands for House In A Container. Every Exup solution starts with a 40' shipping container, into which we pack all the high-tech materials necessary to build the Exup way. About the only thing that doesn't get shipped in a HIAC is the concrete for the walls or foundations! We ship the container anywhere in the world, where it arrives onsite ready to be opened and unpacked.

Why would I want to build with a HIAC?

Shipping all building materials in one container provides 3 main benefits:

  1. all the materials arrive at the same time and can't get separated en route, making logistics from the Exup warehouse a straightforward task. This translates into time-savings for our clients, as they don't have to wait for a project to be finished because of third party shipping problems.

  2. construction site security is much easier, and requires less personnel, keeping costs as low as possible.

  3. billing is simplified; either all the building arrives, or it doesn't. You never have to worry if you missed a shipment of solar panels, or a critical part of the HVAC system.
